Entering Basic Drug Information

To enter basic drug information, do the following:

  1. Open a drug or create a new drug.

Note: The first tab in the drug's folder contains basic information, such as the drug's generic name, trade name, and form.

  1. Enter the following information:
    • Generic: The drug's generic name.
    • Trade: The drug's trade name.
    • TaLL MaN: The drug's tall man name, if one exists.
    • Schedule: The drug's schedule: Schedule I (prescription items); Schedule II (behind the counter items); Schedule III (OTC items in the general section); and Schedule IV (items sold without professional intervention).
    • Drug Form: The dosage form of the drug.
    • Colour: The colour of the drug.
    • Default SIG: The default SIG for the drug.
    • Enterprise: Select from the dropdown menu if the drug is eligible for Drug Trading's Enterprise program.
    • Prep Expiry: The amount of days from when the prescription is processed that the drug expires.

      Note: Only applies to drugs that can be reconstituted.

    • Rpl DIN: The replacement DIN for the drug, if one exists.
    • Strength: The strength of the drug.
    • Auto Disp: Indicates if the drug is dispensed from an Automated Dispensing machine.
  1. Select the Save button.
